Best-ever jobs

Looking for a challenge that really is worthwhile?

Join the 20 translators and editors in our permanent team. Salaried staff members and freelance partners work together in spirit and merit on equal terms. All working arrangements are exclusively long term. We do not contract work out on the basis of individual short-term assignments.

We're always looking for talented translators and editors who possess proficient writing skills.

"Best Value" and "Behind the Words" describe the principles we apply to all of the work we produce. It is essential that you thoroughly understand these standards before making an application to us, in which case you consider yourself to be a capable adherent of the precepts described.

Please state clearly the position that has sparked your interest. We do our best to respond to all enquiries, but if (at first sight) your qualifications and experience are not an ideal match, it may take some time for us to get back to you. The same applies to internship applications.

Should you be asked to complete a test translation, this will be remunerated, but time restrictions do not allow us to comment on our appraisal.

Your CV should include a detailed account of professional experience and academic qualifications (grades where relevant), accompanied by recommendations and/or references from employers or clients.

A covering letter, outlining your particular strengths and how you perceive we can help you to achieve your professional goals, is very welcome.

Job descriptions

English Translator/Editor (Munich Office)

Areas of focus include aeronautics and space technology, applied research and a comprehensive range of topics (from environmental and biotechnology through to production automation, mechanical engineering and laser technology), marketing, and financial reporting.

Job requirements:

  • English native speaker with excellent command of German; solid working comprehension of French or Spanish would be a plus
  • Editing/revision of English translations (source language primarily German, occasionally French and Spanish)
  • Translations into English of magazines, press releases, brochures, annual reports and online media
  • Staff employment

As a translator/editor of English texts, your true genius is a systematic capacity to grasp topics that are completely new to you. Pulling through new learning curves at speed is a motivating challenge: you have an inquisitive mind, you are alert, reliable, determined to get ahead quickly. Most of what we translate gets published, so writing or editing experience in the realm of PR and corporate communications is essential, alongside a familiarity with technical and/or financial and marketing topics. You must be genuinely quality-conscious, customer-oriented and an excellent team player.

You will be working with a team of 10 translators.
