Translation, Revision and Copy-Editing

Translation

Our translators are exclusively native speakers of English, French, German and Spanish. Each translator works as a permanent member of an established team in their language, sharing expertise and experience accumulated in our work for new and existing customers over many years.

We do not employ translators “as needed” from a pool, based simply on their formal qualifications and availability, as is the practice of most agencies. Our selection process for new translators, the working principles to which they must adhere, and the long-term focus of our commitments to each other, extend far beyond the criteria commonly advertised by agencies as a sufficient guarantee of quality.

Our guarantee of quality is based on the permanence and reliability of our translators, whose understanding of genuine talent means being able to adapt their writing style and wording to the media, target audience and customers they work for – regularly. We choose the translator best suited to each individual customer, have them confirm our choice, and stick with the right match. No trial and error. A high rate of availability. Dependable quality.

Each native language team has proven collective experience in translating from the other languages we offer, so that we effectively work in 12 different language directions.

Revision

Revisions refer to changes made to source documents after translations have been completed. If possible, these changes should be highlighted to indicate where target-language documents must be modified.

Copy-Editing

Copy-Editing assignments involve our alterations to source documents, normally prior to their translation into other languages. The majority of these assignments relate to text authored by non-native speakers or specialists who are unaccustomed to writing for a broader readership. Background material is always welcomed, particularly in digital form.
